Ty serves as the Chief Business Officer for Kaulig Racing, bringing over three decades of expertise in the NASCAR industry to the team.
Ty has held lead and senior executive positions at some of the sport’s most successful and renowned organizations, including Dale Earnhardt, Incorporated, Michael Waltrip Racing, and recently Trackhouse Racing. During his DEI days as Dale Earnhardt’s right-hand, the team won 65 NASCAR races, four championships, and three Daytona 500s. With Waltrip Racing, Ty was part of the team that brought Toyota to the NASCAR Cup series in 2007 and peaked as a runner-up in the 2012 NASCAR Cup Series championship. Starting Trackhouse Racing from scratch, Ty was instrumental in launching a new team, bringing on global superstar Pitbull and coming within 235 feet of a Cup Series championship in 2022.
Over the past 35 years, Ty has been involved with NASCAR from the series sponsorship side with R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. during the Winston Cup days, from the agency side with Spire Sports & Entertainment, and most prominently on the team side where his extensive experience and leadership has made him a respected figure in the NASCAR community. Ty focuses on business strategies, revenue, partnership building, and all aspects of sponsor engagement, including activation, media relations, event experience, business-to-business and account management.
